Ex-President Hassan Sheikh has arrived in Garowe for the Heritage Institute for Policy Studies (HIPS) forum that is expected to take off this week.
The former President of Somalia arrived in Garowe, the administrative capital of the semiautonomous state of Puntland, on December Sunday.
President Said Abdullahi Deni of Puntland was at the Garowe Airport to welcome Sheikh and the delegation accompanying him to the event.
The purpose of this year’s HIPS annual forum, the first to be held in Somalia, is to identify ideas that support the country’s transitional efforts for 2025.
All the leaders welcomed by Deni thus far expressed gratitude to Puntland for pursuing cohesion of all while adhering to the protection of the rule of law.
