Dr. Abdirahman Beileh, Somalia’s Minister of Finance, chaired a joint meeting with officials from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank.
The virtual meeting took place on Friday, May 27.
During the meeting, Dr. Belieh led the IMF and World Bank officials in discussing Somalia’s economic reforms.
Specifically, the purpose of the meeting was to identify ways in which the country could satisfy the conditionalities of the support for the coming budget.
Additionally, they discussed ways of increasing domestic revenue.
Dr. Beileh and the officers from the IMF and World Bank spoke about the need for strengthening public finance management (PMF).
