Dr. Abdirahman Beileh, Somalia’s Minister of Finance, has sent congratulatory messages to Akinwumi A. Adesina for being reelected the President of African Development Bank (AfDB).
Adesina was reelected unanimously with 78 out of 78 votes.
Dr. Beileh expressed hope that President Adesina would continue driving Africa towards the pursuit of the High 5 Agenda.
The High 5 Agenda refers to Adesina’s mission of seeing more Africa households lit up and connected to power.
It also involves enabling Africa to feed itself.
Additionally, Adesina has been working hard to industrialize the continent and integrate it while ensuring that Africans enjoy improved quality of life.
Adesina was reelected during AfDB’s 2020 Annual Meeting on Thursday August 27.
AfDB has invested heavily in Somalia in 2020 and funded the country’s efforts to pay off its debts to international donors.
