Somalia’s Finance Progress Highlighted at Financial Governance Report 2024 Launch

Mogadishu — Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister Salah Ahmed Jama today presided over the launch of the Financial Governance Report 2024, praising the country’s significant strides in economic management.

In his address at the event, Jama highlighted Somalia’s rising domestic revenue, the substantial reduction of public debt, and the government’s strong commitment to transparency and accountability in financial matters.

He noted that these milestones reflect the country’s sustainable economic growth trajectory and underscore the progress Somalia continues to make in ensuring responsible public financial management.

The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of continued cooperation among all stakeholders to foster trust and bolster economic stability. “Our commitment to sound financial governance is paramount to our long-term prosperity,” he added.

The Financial Governance Report 2024 provides a detailed overview of Somalia’s fiscal performance, public expenditure, and reform agenda, charting a path toward a more resilient economy.
