Dr. Maryam Mohamed, Somalia’s State Minister for Health, recently attended and addressed the 4th International Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in Jeddah.
In her address, she emphasized Somalia’s strides in tackling drug resistance, particularly through capacity building and promoting responsible use of antibiotics.
The minister also engaged in bilateral discussions aimed at fostering global partnerships to strengthen Somalia’s health systems.
Additionally, she endorsed the ‘Jeddah Commitment,’ a landmark agreement that unites nations in the fight against AMR, focusing on coordinated action, innovation, and equitable access to solutions.
This participation underscores Somalia’s commitment to global health security and collaborative efforts to address this critical public health challenge.
