Top officers from Somalia’s Ministry of Health held a meeting with Federal Parliament’s Social Affairs Commission on Wednesday.
Dr. Fawziya Abikar Nur, the Minister of Health, led a delegation from her ministry to meet with members of the Social Affairs Commission.
During the meeting, Dr. Nur expressed gratitude to the Commission for the amazing work done to approve the NHPC Act.
The National Health Professionals Council (NHPC) Act was passed unanimously on July 7, 2020.
Its purpose is to regulate health professionals and their practices too. Lawmakers passed the Act to regulate the education offered to health professionals around the country.
Furthermore, the Act is designed to guide health professionals to help them offer quality health services to all Somalis in the country as well.
Additionally, Dr. Nur took the opportunity to urge the Social Affairs Commission to expedite the process of endorsing the NMRA Bill.
