Somalia’s Ministry of Health issued a set of new COVID-19 guidelines for international travelers on September 20.
For starters, the ministry now expects all travelers to Somalia to have genuine COVID-19 negative PCR test certificates with QR codes in their possession.
What’s more, the certificates must have been for tests conducted within the past 72 hours.
Moreover, travelers from 11 countries must now self-quarantine for 14 days. These countries include United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Iran, Nepal, and South Africa.
Travelers from Bangladesh, India, Brazil, Mexico, and Iran are subject to self-quarantine too.
Any foreigner who arrives in Somalia without a genuine COVID-19 negative PCR certificate would be returned in the same flight in which they came.
