Somalia’s Ministry of Health received a donation of telemedicine equipment from the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The global organization donated the equipment to the health ministry on January 7, 2021.
According to the ministry, the telemedicine equipment would enable health professionals to receive topnotch training.
Furthermore, the equipment allows the professionals to surmount geographical barriers.
Through the equipment, Somalis from all walks of life would now have little difficulty accessing health services from any location around the country.
Richard Danziger, IOM’s Chief of Mission for Somalia, donated the equipment to officials from the health ministry.
Dr. Fawziya Abikar Nur, the country’s Minister of Health, was on hand to receive the equipment on behalf of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).
