Somalia’s Interior Ministry Launches Strategic Training to Strengthen Government Communication

Mogadishu, Somalia – The Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation has kicked off a new Strategic Communications Training program, bringing together communications teams from the Ministry, the Somali National Army, and partner institutions for a unified learning experience.

Director General Aidarus Moallim Hassan opened the program with strong words of appreciation for the Ministry’s Communication and Public Engagement Department. He highlighted their crucial role in ensuring that the Ministry’s work is communicated to the Somali public with clarity, accuracy, and a deep sense of responsibility.

Reaffirming its commitment to openness and accountability, the ministry emphasized that transparent and effective communication remains central to its mission of serving the people of Somalia.

During the launch, Abdiaziz Ahmed Gurbiye, Director of Communications and Public Engagement, addressed the participants. He underscored the importance of coordinated, professional messaging across government institutions. Strong communication, he noted, not only strengthens public trust but also helps counter misinformation and supports the Ministry’s broader goals in governance and reconciliation.
