The Ministry of Health has announced a partnership with WhatsApp to provide Coronavirus Information Service to all Somalis in the country.
Further, the health ministry said that the new service is free to use.
Moreover, Somalis can use it to obtain accurate and trustworthy information on COVID-19, which has ravaged the country.
The health ministry said the service has an automated chatbot, which Somalis can use to find answers to the questions they have on COVID-19.
Somalis can access the service 24 hours a day, the ministry said.
Coronavirus Information Service is a collaborative work between the health ministry, WhatsApp, and Infobip.
For Somalis to enjoy the service, though, they would have to add the number +252 613600700 to their phonebook.
Afterward, users then have to enter “Hi,” which exposes them to a list of options from which to choose the most appropriate item.
