The new Minister of Defense held a meeting with the United States Ambassador to Somalia.
Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, the defense minister, met with Larry Andre, the US Ambassador to Somalia, on August 18.
The two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest to their respective countries.
Specifically, their discussions centered around the solid partnership between Somalia and the US on security matters.
Nur commended the US for supporting Somalia in building the capacity and capability of the Somali National Army (SNA).
