Somalia’s New Interior Minister Takes Over from His Predecessor

The new Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation has taken over the reins from his predecessor.

Ahmed Fiqi, the new interior minister recently appointed by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre and approved by the federal parliament, took over the office on Saturday, August 13.

Prime Minister Barre was present during the function as Fiqi took over officially.

The interior, federal affairs, and reconciliation’s new leadership include Ambassador Abdihakim Hassan Ashkir and Ilyas Ali Hassan too.

Amb. Ashkir is the Deputy Minister while llyas takes over as the State Minister.
