Somalia’s newly appointed cabinet ministers have started lobbying federal lawmakers for approval.
Several ministers have been holding meetings with federal Members of Parliament (MPs) since Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre nominated them on August 2.
The new appointees are not the only ones to lobby parliament.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and the Prime Minister have also met with lawmakers to convince them to approve the new list of 77 ministers.
House of the People (Lower House) Speaker Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur Madobe met with appointees from Jubbaland at his Mogadishu residence on Wednesday night.
