The newly established Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) of Somalia elected its top leadership on Monday.
Abdikarin Ahmed Hassan was elected to serve as the chairman, while Sadiq Abshir Garad was elected as the electoral commission’s deputy chairman.
Their leadership is expected to guide the commission in organizing and overseeing electoral processes and addressing boundary-related issues, marking a significant step in strengthening Somalia’s democratic institutions.
