The outgoing Deputy Minister of Health in the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) handed over power to his predecessor on October 29.
Mohamed Said, the immediate former Deputy Minister of Health, handed over power to Dr. Ahmed Hussein alias Gurey, the incoming Deputy Minister.
Dr. Fawziya Abikar Nur, the Minister of Health, attended the function.
Several officers from the Office of the President and the Office of the Prime Minister attended the handing over ceremony too.
Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble appointed Dr. Gurey the new Deputy Minister of Health when announcing his cabinet on October 19.
During his announcement, Prime Minister Roble also retained Dr. Nur as the Minister of Health.
Several stakeholders from the health sector in Somalia also showed up to the handing over ceremony to witness the passing on of the baton from Said to Dr. Gurey.
