Presidential candidates from opposition parties in Somalia have said that the ongoing parliamentary elections are “nakedly rigged.”
The Council of Presidential Candidates (CPC) published a press statement on December 1, 2021.
In their statement, they aver that the polls are not fair and transparent.
The CPC politicians further claim that they warned Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble not to proceed with the polls.
“Prime Minister Roble ignored our pleas to halt the polls,” the opposition candidates said in their statement.
Consequently, they have called for urgent talks between all stakeholders.
Nevertheless, the opposition candidates have not provided any proof of their claims.
