Somalia’s Prime Minister Leaves for Educational Summit in London

Mohamed Hussein Roble, the Prime Minister of Somalia, has departed the country to London where he is to attend an educational summit.

Prime Minister Roble’s plane took off on Monday, July 26.

He will be attending the London Global Education Summit, which kicks off on July 28.

Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta is among the horde of global leaders expected to attend the summit, which takes place amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Kenyatta arrives in London on July 27 and is scheduled to co-chair the summit together with Prime Minister Boris Johnson of the United Kingdom.

The theme of this year’s summit is Financing Global Partnership for Education 2021-2025.

Roble will join other leaders and participants from Africa in calling upon world leaders to increase educational investments in the continent to enable more children to attend school.
