The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has confirmed plans to reopen all public schools in the country on August 15, 2020.
As per the latest directive from the government, the schools would reopen after students in primary schools sit their pending exams.
Primary school students are scheduled to sit for their national exams from July 11, 2020.
Secondary school students would then follow thereafter with their own set of national exams from July 18.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Education confirmed that universities and colleges around the country would reopen on September 5, 2020.
Somalia closed all schools and learning institutions in March 2020 to curb the spread of COVID-19 around the nation.
