Somalia’s Trade Minister Discusses Improved Trade with Turkish Ambassador

Khalif Abdi Omar, Somalia’s Minister of Commerce and Industry met with Mehmet Yilmaz, the Turkish Ambassador to Somalia.

The meeting between Omar and Ambassador Yilmaz took place on Sunday, October 17.

During their meeting, Omar and Yilmaz spoke of the need for the two countries to pursue improved trade relations.

Further, Omar and Ambassador Yilmaz also discussed investment relations that Somalia and Turkey need to pursue.

Turkey has been one of Somalia’s most important international allies.

The European nation has made huge investments in several sectors in Somalia.

These include education and healthcare. Nevertheless, Somalia’s security sector also enjoys significant investments and contributions from Turkey.
