Leaders from the Somalia’s House of Representatives (Lower House) and the Senate (Upper House) have announced plans to hold a joint session next week.
On Tuesday, leaders from both Houses met to discuss several issues and lay the groundwork for next week’s joint sessions.
During the meeting, they resolved to iron out their differences, especially regarding legislative affairs.
Further, the leaders also vowed to discuss and approve the recently signed agreement on elections during next week’s session.
In the past, lawmakers in the Upper House have accused their colleagues from the Lower House of undermining their legislative mandate and powers.
