Authorities in Somaliland have arrested armed militants who traveled all the way from Mogadishu, Somalia.
Mohamed Kahin Ahmed, Somaliland’s Minister of Internal Security, confirmed the arrest to the media on August 12.
According to the minister, police officers nabbed a ragtag militia from Mogadishu.
“Investigations reveal that the militants were sent to Somaliland to not only create a terrorist cell but also interfere with security,” the minister said.
The minister informed the public that the militia would be paraded for all to see.
He also promised to divulge further information on the armed militants including their names, number, and those with whom they work in Somaliland.
