Somaliland Citizens Affected by Drought to Benefit from $2 Million in Emergency Response Relief

The people of Somaliland affected by the ongoing drought are to benefit from $2 million worth of emergency response relief.

Somaliland government announced this relief on August 24.

Thousands of people around the breakaway region of Somaliland are set to benefit from the emergency response relief.

According to the Somaliland National Drought Rescue Committee (SNDRC), the funds would support ongoing efforts to save lives as the drought continues to bite.

SNDRC stated that the drought has become a major threat to lives and livelihoods.

In its latest report, the response committee indicated that many adults and children are hospitalized in different parts of the country to receive treatment for malnutrition.
