Members of the Somaliland community in Uganda joined their fellow citizens in celebrating the country’s 60th Independence Day anniversary.
Each year Somaliland celebrates its Independence Day on June 26, 2020.
Somaliland Representative to Uganda took the opportunity to hail the efforts of his compatriots in Uganda to celebrate the anniversary despite being thousands of kilometers away from home.
The people of Somaliland joined their families, friends, businesspeople, and expatriates to mark the day the country got its independence from Great Britain on June 26, 1960.
However, this year’s celebrations are quite different since public gatherings are prohibited in both Somaliland and Uganda due to COVID-19 fears.
