On Friday, the Ministry of Health announced that Somaliland had recorded its first COVID-19 death.
The ministry announced that a young man buried in Borama, which is the capital of Awdal Province, had succumbed to COVID-19.
Further, information released by the health ministry said the young businessman had no history of travel.
Additionally, the ministry also confirmed three more COVID-19 cases, thus bringing to nine the number of cases in the country. It also recorded three recoveries.
Recently, Somaliland received testing equipment from the World Health Organization (WHO) though it continues sending its samples to Nairobi for tests.
