The Somaliland Energy Commission (SEC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, held a consultation meeting to discuss the first draft of electricity licenses and tariff regulations.
This event, which took place on Monday last week, is part of the deliverables that the commission aims to achieve to regulate and standardize the electricity sector in Somaliland.
The meeting brought together various stakeholders, including government officials, representatives from energy companies, and experts in the energy sector, to provide their input and feedback on the proposed regulations.
The goal is to create a framework that ensures fair pricing, reliable service, and sustainable energy practices in Somaliland.
SEC hopes that the new licenses and regulations would make a positive contribution to the World Bank-funded Somaliland Energy Sector Recovery Project (SESRP).
