The government of Somaliland has expressed willingness to use dialogue to resolve the ongoing clashes in Las Anod.
President Muse Bihi Abdi chaired an extraordinary meeting of the cabinet on February 7 to discuss the Las Anod issue.
Las Anod has been the scene of deadly clashes that have lasted several weeks now.
Bihi had to deploy government troops to the area to quell the clashes.
However, the presence of the government troops created more chaos as local residents took to the streets to protest the move.
President Bihi and his cabinet also issued a cry for assistance for those displaced by the clashes.
