Somaliland has granted amnesty to all rebel fighters who have been carrying out anti-government attacks from the Ga’an Libah Mountains.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs issued a statement highlighting the amnesty granted to the rebels.
In Tuesday’s statement, the ministry stated that the government had pardoned all the young men who took up arms against it in Ga’an Libah Mountains.
Consequently, the government considers the matter closed.
A week ago, a committee comprising traditional elders brokered a peace agreement between the government and the rebels.
