Hargeisa — Somaliland’s Minister of Interior, Abdalle Mohamed Carab, assured the cabinet on Thursday that the region’s domestic security remains stable and free from significant incidents that could threaten public order or national cohesion.
The minister provided this update during the 24th session of the cabinet meeting, chaired by President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Irro at the Presidential Palace in Hargeisa.
In his report to the Council, Carab attributed the sustained peace to effective inter-agency coordination and the vigilance of Somaliland’s internal security apparatus, emphasizing that these efforts continue to preserve the rule of law and protect the nation’s territorial integrity.
The cabinet session, chaired by the President and attended by the Vice President, senior ministers, and top executive officials, focused on three key agenda items: national security and public stability, the economic and fiscal outlook of the country, and the review and endorsement of strategic legislative reforms designed to bolster Somaliland’s institutional framework and regulatory environment.
The council noted that maintaining strong domestic security is critical for creating a stable environment that supports Somaliland’s economic growth and long-term development goals.
