Somaliland has launched a peaceful voter registration exercise.
Musa Hassan Yusuf, the Chairperson of the National Elections Commission (NEC), commended voters for the peace maintained during the exercise.
He urged more members to register for the elections that are scheduled for next year.
Yusuf was speaking to the media during an interview that took place at the NEC offices in Hargeisa on Wednesday.
The NEC Chairman added that the exercise had kicked off countrywide smoothly.
Further, he urged members of the NEC carrying out the exercise to be considerate with those registering to take part in the 2023 elections.
