A man in Somaliland is behind bars after police arrested him on suspicion of killing his colleague.
Officers from the Somaliland Police Force (SPF) arrested a man known as Baashe Faarah Abdi on Friday.
Baashe is the main suspect in the gruesome murder of Jimaale Rashid Hassan.
Authorities suspect that Baashe stabbed Jimaale with a knife at around 2.30 am in Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland.
Both Baashe and Jimaale worked for the same employer.
At the time of the stabbing and subsequent death, Jimaale had been sound asleep.
Thus far, police investigations reveal that Baashe and Jimaale had endured long-running disputes that might have led to the latter’s murder.
Police arrested Baashe after long hours of searching for him in different parts of Hargeisa.
They finally nabbed him following a tipoff from members of the public.
