President Muse Bihi Abdi of Somaliland has sacked his Attorney-General and the Minister of Development and Investment.
The Somaliland leader announced the two sackings on November 24.
He sacked the two senior government officers a few days after members of the opposition had called him an “illegitimate leader.”
Henceforth, Hassan Ahmed Adan ceases being the Attorney-General.
Similarly, Abdullahi Abdirahman Aare will no longer serve as the development and investment minister.
In their place, President Bihi appointed Abdirahman Jamac Hayaan and Amina Elmi Baded to serve as the Attorney-General and investment minister respectively.
Adan had been the Attorney-General for the last 12 years.
President Bihi’s office is yet to provide reasons for sacking the two leaders.
