Authorities in Somaliland have pardoned five men who had been convicted of terrorism.
President Muse Bihi Abdi ordered the release of the five convicts on August 26.
The convicts are Abdullahi Mohamud Yusuf, Osman Yusuf, Daud Salah, Jama Kutiye, and Abdurahman Indho Adde.
The men had been in prison serving various sentences for their links to terror activities in the breakaway nation of Somaliland.
Upon his release, Indho expressed his gratitude to President Bihi for releasing him from his 25-year imprisonment.
Mohamed Yusuf had been in prison for three years and seven months prior to his release.
Two others were imprisoned for 17 years each while the fifth one was in jail for over three years.
