Somaliland Port Authority (SPA) received a new tugboat from Sanmar Shipyards. P&O Maritime Logistics (P&OML) delivered the tug to SPA.
P&OML is DP World’s maritime services arm.
The government of Somaliland awarded DP World the tender to manage Berbera Port on behalf of SPA.
The tugboat, christened M JEEX, arrived at the port on Thursday, September 10.
According to maritime authorities, the tugboat is designed to provide ship docking services at the Berbera Port.
Additionally, it would also enable SPA to conduct deep-sea towage services in coastal waters.
