Somaliland President Leads Strategic Government Review Session

Hargeisa — President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro today chaired a high-level quarterly strategic meeting with the Director Generals of all ministries and independent state agencies, focusing on enhancing institutional performance, strengthening accountability, and fast-tracking the delivery of essential public services.

The meeting, held at the presidential complex, brought together top administrative leaders to assess progress across government institutions and align efforts toward achieving national development goals. It forms part of President Irro’s broader governance agenda aimed at improving public sector efficiency and responsiveness.

In his opening address, President Irro underscored the urgent need to instill a results-oriented culture throughout the civil service. He emphasized the importance of self-assessment, urging every institution to present a transparent review of its recent performance — including milestones achieved, challenges faced, and immediate areas requiring improvement.

“Our citizens expect a government that is present, capable, and responsive. This is not a time for complacency. It is a time for focus, coordination, and delivery,” President Irro declared.

The President instructed all government bodies to produce clear action plans outlining priority goals and measurable benchmarks for the next quarter. He also reiterated his administration’s commitment to good governance, public accountability, and people-centered service delivery.

Observers view the meeting as a key step in reinforcing executive oversight and promoting institutional alignment within Somaliland’s governance framework.
