President Muse Bihi Abdi of Somaliland held a meeting with a former Danish minister in the country’s capital.
Reports from the Office of the President indicate that Bihi and Christian Friis, a one-time Minister of Development in Denmark, took place on Tuesday.
Friis has been in the East African nation for meetings with top government officials.
Recently, he announced that his firm would be setting up a fish production facility in the Horn of Africa country.
In his address to the media after the meeting with Bihi, the ex-minister said that he is in Somaliland to initiate development projects.
Further, Friis confirmed that he had visited Somaliland in the past.
“Eight years ago, I visited the Danish Office in Hargeisa while serving as the Minister of Development Aid back in Denmark,” Friis said.
In his first visit, Friis launched the Somaliland Development Fund (SDF).
He expressed the government of President Bihi for the huge strides they have made in driving the country forward and creating conducive surroundings for foreigners to invest in the nation.
