Hargeisa, Somaliland – President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro welcomed a high-level international delegation led by Kenyan scholar and Pan-Africanist, Professor PLO Lumumba, at the Presidential Palace in Hargeisa, Somaliland on Sunday. The visiting mission, organized through the Lumumba Foundation, included representatives from Africa, Asia, the United States, and Europe, with participants from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, the USA, Qatar, China, India, and Austria, among other nations.
In discussions with the delegation, President Irro highlighted Somaliland’s drive to attract strategic investments across key economic sectors. He pointed to the country’s vast potential in energy, natural resources, production, and infrastructure development, stressing that such partnerships could accelerate economic growth, generate jobs, and strengthen long-term national development.
The President underscored that Somaliland’s decades-long record of peace, stability, democratic governance, and adherence to rule of law offers a reliable foundation for international investors seeking a safe and transparent environment.
“Our stability and governance are our greatest strengths,” he noted, assuring that the government is committed to creating an enabling framework for responsible investment.
Members of the visiting delegation praised Somaliland’s leadership and resilience, describing the nation as a unique model of stability in a volatile region. They pledged to undertake a comprehensive review of investment opportunities and to explore avenues for meaningful collaboration with both public and private sectors.
The visit, which brought together diverse global perspectives, was seen as an important step toward amplifying Somaliland’s visibility on the international stage and strengthening its case as an emerging destination for investment and cooperation.
