Somaliland Records Huge Number of New COVID-19 Deaths

Somaliland has recorded a huge number of new COVID-19 deaths in the first quarter of the new year.

This was revealed during the recent 72 meeting of the Council of Cabinet Ministers in Hargeisa.

A report from the Council of Cabinet Ministers shows that Somaliland recorded 29 deaths in the first three weeks of March 2021.

In February, Somaliland registered 13 deaths.

That number stood at only 2 deaths in January.

Moreover, the tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases keeps rising too.

The breakaway nation recorded 59, 232, and 607 confirmed cases in January, February, and March respectively.

Consequently, the administration of President Muse Bihi Abdi called for better implementation of measures for curbing the spread of the disease in the country.
