Hargeisa, Somaliland – The Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Abdillahi Hassan Aden, has presented a comprehensive report detailing Somaliland’s positive economic and fiscal performance, underscoring the government’s strong financial stewardship and sustained economic progress. Speaking during the 37th Session of the Council of Ministers held on Wednesday at the Presidential Palace in Hargeisa, the Minister confirmed that domestic revenue collection had exceeded projections, signaling effective fiscal management and confidence in national economic policy.
Abdillahi highlighted that Somaliland’s economy continues to demonstrate resilience despite global and regional challenges, attributing the progress to sound monetary discipline, prudent budgeting, and enhanced transparency in public finance. He reaffirmed the government’s strategic focus on stimulating domestic production, encouraging investment, promoting entrepreneurship, and expanding trade as the cornerstone for achieving a self-reliant economy.
Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Ismail Mawliid Abdillahi, delivered an analytical briefing that examined four key economic indicators—financial sector performance, trade and travel dynamics, investment trends, and fiscal management metrics. He explained that these data-driven insights are instrumental in shaping evidence-based policy decisions and in maximizing domestic revenue potential.
Chaired by the Vice President and Acting President of Somaliland, Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, the Council of Ministers commended the Ministry’s performance and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to maintaining economic stability and advancing national development.
