The government of Somaliland has promised to handle gender-based violence (GBV) offenses much better.
Somaliland’s President Muse Bihi Abdi made this vow on March 6.
He spoke while launching the official national office that would address matters related to GBV offenses.
Nagaad Umbrella Network organized Sunday’s function.
President Bihi expressed his delight at the wonderful occasion and the establishment of the national office.
He admitted that Somaliland had never looked at this issue seriously and in-depth.
Bihi promised to be at the forefront in advocating for laws that would guarantee justice to the victims of GBV offenses while punishing the offenders.
