The Ethiopian government has encouraged Somaliland tycoons to invest in the country.
The Minister of Investment of the Somali Regional State in Ethiopia recently led a delegation to Somaliland for discussions with their counterparts.
During their tour of Somaliland, the government representatives discussed ways of furthering their bilateral relations.
The Somali delegation from Ethiopia briefed the Somaliland team on the opportunities available for business and investment.
The Somaliland team acknowledged that its discussions with the delegation from Ethiopia were “fruitful.”
Abdisalan Yusuf, the investment minister from the Somali Region in Ethiopia, said that he led the delegation to convince Somaliland entrepreneurs to invest in their region.
His Somaliland counterpart, Mohamed Ahmed Awad, said that he accepted an invitation to lead a delegation of entrepreneurs to Jigjiga in Ethiopia.
Awad confirmed that he would soon be traveling with his delegation to Jigjiga, which is the administrative capital of Somali State.
