Somaliland Vice President Opens Conference on National Water Harvesting

The Vice President of the breakaway region of Somaliland opened a conference on water harvesting.

Vice President Abdirahman Sayli’i launched the National Water Harvesting Conference on February 4.

Several senior officials of the Somaliland government attended the conference.

Participants at the meeting reiterated the importance of restoring the public’s confidence in the ability of the government to harvest rainwater for domestic and commercial use.

Vice President Sayli’i informed the participants of the importance of harvesting water.

Furthermore, Sayli’i advised participants of the need for taking advantage of annual rain instead of letting all that water go to waste.

Mohamed Dirie, the Minister of Water Resources, emphasized the benefits of harvesting and using rainwater considering the volume of rain that the country receives annually.
