Somaliland Vice President Visits Ex-President Silanyo in Abu Dhabi

Abdirahman Abdullahi Ismail Sayli’i, the Vice President of Somaliland, has visited the a former President of Somaliland.

Vice President Sayli’i visited ex-President Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud Silanyo in Abu Dhabi on September 25.

The visit was at ex-President Silanyo’s residence in Abu Dhabi.

Abdiweli Sheikh Abdullahi Suufi, Somaliland’s Minister of Technology and Telecommunication, accompanied the Vice President.

According to sources, Vice President Sayli’i was only in Abu Dhabi to pay Silanyo a courtesy call.

Silanyo is President Muse Bihi Abdi’s predecessor. Bihi came into office riding the wave of the popularity and influence that Silanyo wielded in the northern breakaway region of Somaliland.

Unconfirmed reports show that Sayli’i sought Silanyo’s support as Kulmiye Party, which the former president founded, seeks to vie for elections again.
