Somaliland will proceed with the seaport deal that it signed with Ethiopia on January 1, 2024.
Essa Kayd Mohamed, Somaliland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, made this vow on behalf of the Somaliland government in his interview with BBC Somalia on Wednesday.
Mohamed said that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) adheres to all International laws.
In the interview, he indicated that the deal does not violate Somalia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The minister added that Somaliland has existed as an independent state since 1991.
