Somaliland Warns International Community to Stop Involving It in Somalia’s Affairs

The government of Somaliland has warned the international community to stop involving it in Somalia’s affairs.

President Muse Bihi Abdi’s administration made this announcement during the 59th Session of the Council of Ministers.

Bihi chaired the session. He was assisted by Vice President Abdirahman Abdilahi Ismail, who is also known as Sayli.

The Council of Ministers, who held their meeting in Hargeisa, also delved into various important issues to the country.

These included COVID-19 and the ongoing efforts to reconcile the clans that are fighting each other in El-Afweine.

During the sessions, President Bihi’s administration reminded the European Union and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) to handle Somaliland as a separate entity.

Bihi said that Somaliland and Somalia share a border and a common history but that does not make the two one country.
