Ambassador Rhoda Jama Elmi, the Somaliland Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, welcomed a delegation comprising top United Nations personnel to the ministry’s headquarters in Hargeisa.
Elmi met th delegation led by Ambassador James Swan, the Acting Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Sunday.
This meeting likely focused on fostering increased collaboration between Somaliland and the UN.
They discussed regional stability and ways of advancing humanitarian and development efforts too.
Ambassador Swan’s role as the Acting Special Representative indicates a continued focus on UN engagement in the region to support peace, security, and governance initiatives.
