A former Minister of Finance in Somaliland has called the ruling party “disingenuous” in the way it has led the country.
Ismael M. Hurreh, who also served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Deputy Prime Minister of Somalia’s Transitional Federal Government, said the party is dishonest in leadership.
Hurreh stated this on Sunday, October 4 while the ruling party’s Grand Convention was going on in Hargeisa.
Kulmiye Party ascended to power in 2005.
Currently, President Muse Bihi Abdi of Somaliland, who is the Chairman of Kulmiye Party, has won the endorsement of his party to vie for presidential elections again.
Hurreh said that Kulmiye Party has never done much to advance the country’s recognition and statehood within and outside Somaliland.
Consequently, he reminded the people of Somaliland to expect nothing but more “misinformation, falsehoods, and platitudes” from the party’s convention.
