On Tuesday, the House of Representatives in Somaliland announced a postponement of its first session over COVID-19 fears.
The 43rd Session was scheduled to kick off from June 6, 2020.
However, the House of Reps issued a press statement saying that the session would now not proceed as earlier scheduled.
The postponement is part of the measures put in place by the government through the Ministry of Health to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
In its statement, House of Reps said the cancellation would remain in force to protect lawmakers and all other staff working within parliament.
Thus far, a few cabinet ministers have tested positive to the novel Coronavirus, which has hit the nation hard.
