Hargeisa, Somaliland – The Minister of Interior and National Security, Abdalle Mohamed Carab, has assured citizens that peace and stability remain strong across the Republic of Somaliland, reaffirming the government’s commitment to safeguarding national unity and public safety.
Presenting a detailed security assessment during this week’s cabinet meeting chaired by President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro, Carab reported that the overall security environment across the nation’s six regions is calm, stable, and well-managed.
He emphasized that no incidents of unrest or threats to national order have been recorded in recent weeks, a reflection of what he described as the “vigilance and professionalism” of Somaliland’s security institutions. Routine offenses, he added, continue to be effectively handled through established law enforcement mechanisms.
“Somaliland remains secure and united. Our security forces are consistently ensuring that peace prevails across all regions,” Carab stated, expressing confidence in the capacity of the police, intelligence, and local authorities to maintain order.
The minister also highlighted the cooperation between local communities and security agencies, noting that this partnership has played a vital role in preventing potential disturbances and fostering public trust.
President Irro commended the ministry’s ongoing efforts to preserve internal peace, which he said forms the cornerstone of Somaliland’s governance and economic progress. He reiterated his administration’s unwavering focus on stability as the foundation for national development.
The reassurance comes at a time when the government continues to strengthen its institutions, enhance border security, and promote regional cohesion — reinforcing Somaliland’s image as one of the Horn of Africa’s most stable territories.
