Somaliland’s Opposition Leader Tests Positive for Coronavirus

Reports from Hargeisa indicate that the leader of one of Somaliland’s main political parties has tested positive for Coronavirus.

Abdirahman Irro, who leads the opposition Wadani Party, announced that he had tested positive for the novel Coronavirus on Friday, October 23.

Irro posted the message on his official Twitter handle.

Consequently, Irro announced that he would be embarking on the recommended seven days of self-quarantine.

Irro announced that he tested positive despite having no complications and being in excellent health.

He said that he remains grateful to Allah in all situations.

Irro is the latest high profile politician in Somaliland to test positive for COVID-19, a disease that has already claimed the lives of several political leaders in the country.
