Brig. Gen. Mohamed Adan Saqadi, the Chief of Somaliland Police, has launched a new horse unit to help his officers tackle crime better.
He launched the unit during a visit to the police training facility at Wajale where officers have set up a farming project.
During the event, Brig. Gen. Saqadi said officers would now be seconded to the newly established unit, which has 50 horses, for training.
While at the event, the police chief hailed the efforts put in by officers to ensure that the National Police Service is self-sufficient in food production.
The facility has state-of-the-art tractors and other farming equipment needed to boost food production.
